ironguides Training Plans Tearing Up the Field in 2008!

We love it when someone buys an ironguidesteamTBB Training Plan, follows it to the letter, and smashes their previous best times - with no coaching or support other than our online forums. Here's one example of someone who spent $65 USD and dropped their Olympic-distance time from 2:08 to 1:59 in 12 weeks.

My race results yesterday prove that the Method works. I have trained with more intensity than ever before and yet I never felt tired on any training day. I didn't need to take a single day off (apart from the compulsory ones) in the 12 weeks of the program.

Yesterday I PR'd in the swim, the bike and the run.

At this annual race my best result (last year) was 2hr 7min. Yesterday i did it in 1hr 59min (I actually won the race!) on the same bike with the same shoes on the same course and in the same weather conditions as last year. That's 8 mins!!!

I never thought I could go that fast! [more]

Check out these cost-effective ways to tackle your first go at the distance, or to improve on your current times over any distance:

8-week Sprint.Triathlon Training Manual - $45 USD
12-week Olympic Distance Triathlon Training Manual - $65 USD
16-week 70.3 / Half Ironman Triathlon Training Manual - $95 USD
20-week Ironman Triathlon Training Manual - $145 USD

Latest Blog from Dr. Ryan: The P-p-p-power of P-p-p-protein!

Protein needs of athletes have received considerable attention in recent years, and a growing amount of research is being dedicated to investigating the specific protein requirements of endurance athletes.

It can be confusing at the best of times to try to discern from the plethora of marketing information just how much protein is enough throughout the day, when you should have it, and what sources you should get it from. Thankfully, research on the protein needs of endurance athletes is becoming increasingly clear, and the power of protein is being established. Read More >

Method Training Camp in Thailand, January 2009

Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add,
but when there is nothing left to take away.
- Antoine de Saint Exupéry

Feel like learning how it's all done? Join us for one of our Method Triathlon Training Camps in Thailand, January 2009.

  • Learn how you need to swim train for triathlon based on your level of ability.
  • Understand why "big gear" training is more suitable for triathlon than the common, misunderstood notion of "high cadence" used in cycling.
  • Learn how a "high stride rate" in triathlon running translates to faster run splits - and why this works so well!
  • Pack in four days of solid training in an exotic location, structured in a way that will leave you wondering by the end of camp why you're not as tired as you thought you'd be.
  • Leave camp confident, fresh and ready to tackle your own training with a pocket full of training sessions you can incorporate into your training on a weekly basis.
