From desire springs dedication. Many people confuse dedication with temporary devotion or hard work, but true dedication means you don’t stop until the task you set out to accomplish is complete. Champions view this mindset not as a unique ability, but as an intrinsic component of their success.

As Lord Sebastian Coe (for 16 years the 800m world record holder) put it, “Great athletes in middle and long distance events all carry at least one familiar trait and that is not enhanced genetics, but an obsession with consistency.” Or as Vince Lombardi put it: “Winning [or however you define success!] is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit."

And as we all know, habits can be learned. When you are truly dedicated, you understand that your dedication has no limits. Your dedication is nothing less than a concerted effort to follow best practice procedures that will maximize your results in your chosen field of endeavour. Dedication is the force that brings you to streamline your life ever more in pursuit of your goal until you know nothing else and wouldn’t have it any other way.
