At the Bintan Triathlon, Olympic distance, Olivier Monnard earned 4th in his age group with a time of 2hr 28. Itching to race after the cancellation of Ironman China, Oli jumped into the short course event to stretch his legs. Usually a rock solid runner, Oli suffered this time round from lack of specific short course training yet pulled out a decent performance against a strong field.
Graham Ross finished in 2hr 44, a slightly dissappointing result for him. He rallied hard after a tiring swim but never quite found his form on the bike and run. He'll be back for more.
Stephen Boyd crossed the line in 2hr 50. Hot on the heels of training buddy Graham, Stephen raced steady for a solid Olympic distance result.
At the Malacca Triathlon, Olympic distance, Choo Ling Er won her age group. Ling Er continues to impress us with her dedication to hard training. It paid off this time with yet another finish on top of the podium. Well done!
Joseph Wong earned 4th place in his age group. Jo channelled his dissappointment over the cancellation on IM China and put his energy into his first top 5 performance. Nice one!
Olivier Monnard grabbed 5th place in his division. Competing for the second weekend in a row, Oli raced alongside Malaysia's top athletes for this excellent result.
At Ironman 70.3 Italy, Kathrin Puff went 5hr 38, placing 5th in the F30-34 division with a run split of 1hr41! That was a 10-minute PB over the half Ironman distance.
Over at XTerra Brazil Amazon, which consists of a 1.5km swim, 30km bike and a 9km run, Rui Dieguez finished 17the in the M40-44 division. His 04hr 22 finish was the reward for his great progress on the bike.
Rodrigo Fileto (M30-34) finished in 04hr 37, an improvement of one hour from last year's result.
ironguides coach Rodrigo Tosta crossed the line in 3hr 45, earning 12th place in the M30/34 division.
