ironguides Warrior Sets 20-minute PR at IM Germany

ironguides athletes raced in Germany (Ironman Germany), Canada (Great White North Half Ironman), France (l'Etape du Tour) and Washington State (Lake Stevens 70.3) this weekend -- and smashed their perceived limits yet again. Here's who did what in Frankfurt, Germany.

Deutschland

An Ironman waiting to happen, that was what Frankfurt was all about this morning. Oh baby, did ironguides coaching athlete Neal Dunn put that vibe to use -- coming off the nagging worries that are a normal part of Neal's pre-Ironman preparations, our man in Deutschland laid some doubts to rest by lopping 20 minutes off his best time and setting bike and run PR's in the process.

Delivering smack to the rest of the ironguides folks out racing this July 6, Neal worked his strength and popped out in the top forty after the swim. Did we mention that Neal is Vice Prez of a busy pharmaceutical marketing firm and struggles to balance his training with work, business travel, relationship and life's other little demands such as moving, building a new house and winning exotic island national championship races? No? Well - he does!

But since the world was watching we can't gush and it's not possible to call Neal's swim a PR swim but if the wet part of the race would have been accurate and another 3 minutes longer, Neal would have enjoyed a 52 minute (instead of 49) swim -- so I say let's give it to him, folks! Although let's keep it real and turn a blind eye to "sub 8" for Macca since that didn't actually transpire over 3.8k swim. Anyway, who's counting? Neal wasn't and simply rode off to a new bike PR, chased down with a 3:33 marathon PR to pull up in front of Frankfurt's old city hall a jubilant 9:45 Ironman, making it two years in a row Neal's knocked massive time off his previous best under ironguides' coaching guidance.

Congratulations Neal!
